A family-owned-and-operated business, we've been making our fine chocolates and other classic confections for over four generations.
Asher's Chocolates offers an award-winning selection of chocolates and other sweets-from assorted pralines to our Chocolate-Smothered Pretzels and creamy fudge.
We also have one of the largest (and most delicious) lines of sugar-free chocolates in the country.
Our original family recipes began with Chester A.
Asher, a Scottish farm boy from Canada, with a passion for chocolates and a knack for getting to the heart of a sugar craving.
Always on the hunt for new ways to delight his customers, he was ever perfecting his creations, jotting new recipes down on bags of sugar.
Today, we use the freshest, purest ingredients, just as Chester did.
Though our company has expanded over the years, we continue to treat our customers and employees like family.

We follow strict manufacturing practices to ensure that we have a quality product.
Makeup, nail-polish/artificial nails, highly scented products, clothing contain objects, and jewelry are not permitted on the production floor.
Asher's provides safety equipment to make sure that our product is of the highest quality.
Appropriate footwear for the specific production area must be wore at all times.
The process of making candy can be challenging.
Many factors go into creating our products.
The work environment can be hot, cold, noisy, and/or very fast paced.
You will regularly work on your feet for long periods of time, have repetitive motions with hands, elbows, shoulders, arms and legs, perform lifting of up to 35 pounds, and be asked to comprehend instructions (written and verbal) in English.

Summary:
Feeds conveyor with product and packs product.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Picks up products from trays/boards, aligning them on the conveyor belt, while preventing pieces from coming into contact with each other as they continue through the coating process.
Mix chocolate and nuts into molds and transfer the molds onto the conveyor.
Must visually inspect product during the feeding process for any signs of damage or nonconformity.
Picks up product from moving conveyor and align in boxes.
Pick up product from bulk boxes and packs into 'pre-packaged' boxes.
Visually inspect finished products to ensure that they conform to pre-established guidelines.
Weigh, pad, close, label, and code date packaged boxes.
The boxes are then placed into cartons.
Operate carton tape machine, egg rolling machine, mold and plaque washing machines.
Clean work area and wipe down equipment and machinery.
Perform special project work as assigned by department lead or supervisor.
May be assigned to assist co-workers in other departments when necessary Responsible to Department Manager and subordinate staff members to:
Able to interrelate with department personnel.
Ensure that safety practices are always exercised.
Responsible to QA to:
Ensure that the department is maintained in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, which includes housekeeping and hygiene practices Ensure that product quality conditions and requirements are consistently met and documented.
Must be a positive contributor when interacting with other Asher's team members and customers at all times.
Must bring a positive attitude (Can do and What Can I Do to Help) to the position Perform specific tasks as requested and required by the Asher's Management team.

Qualifications:
The ability to read, write, and comprehend English to safely perform all duties and requirements of the position.
Must be reliable and detail oriented.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Experience:
Previous experience packing, feeding, or experience in food manufacturing preferred, but not required.
Knowledge and Skills:
Must possess the knowledge and understanding of good manufacturing practices, as well as HACCP standards Travel Requirements:
None Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Approximately 100% of the work is performed in a food manufacturing facility which is climate controlled and contains known allergens.
The feeder/packer must be able to continuously walk, stand, sit, squat, or kneel.
Must be able to work in an environment with extreme temperature changes ranging from 60 to an excess of 100 .
Ability to walk over various working surfaces including carpeting, hard wood, and concrete floors is required.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50lb with or without the aid of material handling equipment.
