Assembly Operator

Souderton, PA manufacturer is looking for an experienced assembler.
This position will be required to effectively lay out work, set-up appropriate machines or equipment to meet or exceed assembly demands and customer requirements per design specifications and published schedules.
Efficiently utilizes resources to minimize scrap, materials and labor.
Duties &
Responsibilities:
Read & interpret blueprints Operate power tools and equipment such as band saw, table saw, manual hand brake, drill, grinder, etc.
Handle and work with different types of materials:
ceramic and steel Document work process, issues and usage of material or excess material.
Organize work area Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and comprehend all forms of written and/or verbal instructions including but not limited to basic correspondence and blueprints.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, angles, and volume.
Knowledge of basic concepts of geometry.
Education &
Experience:
Minimum of 1 yr related assembly experience Must have a high school degree or GED Experience working with a forklift preferred Forklift and overhead crane training certification preferred Physical requirements:
Must be able to stand up to 10 hrs per day Regularly required to lift and or move up to 50lbs Regularly requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, dust and carbon in the air, or other airborne particles that may require respiratory protection Regular exposure to loud noise Eye protection and foot protection required at all times Recommended Skills Assembling Fabrication Follow Work Instructions Lifting Production Line Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
