The Staff Accountant I performs month end general ledger reconciliations for select subsidiaries and reconciliations for cash accounts. Posts daily and month end journal entries. Performs daily activities such as working the general ledger unposted items, suspense items, balancing the gift card portfolio, monitoring the banks ACH account and preparing necessary EFT's. Support the Treasury Service department by preparing daily entries for the CDARS program, Barclays Brokered deposits, and reconciling the Federal Reserve bank account. Additional support would include balancing monthly Treasury general ledgers and working with staff to research differences. Support the Accounts Payable department as needed by processing invoices.
Process general ledger entries
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly general ledger reconcilements
Balance the Gift Card Portfolio
Assist Account Payable as need
Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to the position, including the Univest Code of Conduct
Perform additional duties as required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or 3 to 5 years industry experience
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, well organized
Must be proficient in spreadsheet software (Excel)
Knowledge of Word Processing software (Word for Windows)
